Why do the weeks fly by as we are in Spring/Summer? The weather improves (hopefully) and life seems to erupt into barbecues, parties, afternoon teas, charity lunches, charity balls … you name it, our social season has well and truly started and we like to enjoy these wonderful events with family and friends. We were born to socialise, weren’t we and I am at my happiest when I am and meeting all sorts of people from all sorts of life. This week saw me at a Beauty Con event in London with Becky and Holly and I might even have met a few of you there who read my blog and watch the vlog. Both Becky and Holly (and me too) were overwhelmed by how many people had travelled quite long distances to meet up with us and whilst I was there I picked up a couple of beauty products to put through the test and see how they performed.
I don’t know how many of you suffer from hay fever, which can be particularly bad at this time of the year, well I have only started to suffer over the last few years, but one thing that I have found helps slightly is that I take honey every morning with my breakfast . This seems to help with my throat enormously.
Well what a week this one turned out to be. They say that moving house is one of the most stressful things that you can do and that’s certainly what we had this week for Becky and Holly. All was sorted with Becky and Holly’s new house and then the vendor starting changing the moving date so things like removal men to come in on certain days had to be changed and tempers rose as we didn’t even know on the day of moving whether it would all go through ok. So they have been staying with me for a couple of days which I love (not loving all their stuff which has had to be stored at ours as well for a couple of days !) … but in the end all successful and prosecco drunk to celebrate ha ha and they will be so happy in their new home which gives them so much more space. Sad for them to leave their lovely cottage down the road ….. we joke that Momma Hen (as they call me) will have separation anxiety, but where they are moving to is not very far away either …. a few more fields !!!!
So onto some Beauty finds that I have been trying this week!
I am not off to a festival (not my kinda thing any more!) …. but it is the season and I know a lot of young girls try the dry shampoo for their hair so I thought I would try this Batiste one to see whether it has a place in my life!!!
Firstly apologies that there was no blog last week due to my illness but feeling so much better now so normal business resumed!! Feeling ill just sets you back with everything doesn’t it but I am back on track both with my blog and my videos which I hope you have subscribed to and are enjoying. Whilst enjoying doing all of this very much, it is the most heartfelt comments that I receive from people all over the world, that really encourage me to first of all try videos and also – keep going. I am hoping to inspire lots of females out there to keeping themselves looking as lovely as possible and it’s also so much about being happy with yourself – that inner confidence that shines through too – as beauty.
So let’s get onto some beauty … beauty which keeps on coming and getting better and better …..
You all know that I love lipstick and always have ….. but sometimes some of the formulations can be quite drying and maybe I am one of these people that keeps moving their lips and wiping the formulations off all the time, but they always seem to be dry. In order to make lippy look its best the lips do need to be hydrated and when I was in France last week I finally got to purchase some of the product that I know everyone has talked about for ages – the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm with its lovely honey and precious oils content. It has a slightly lemony scent, which surprised me considering it is made from honey, but it beats other potions hands down for its thick and velvet like texture. It’s a bit like a primer for my lips so I pop it on at night but then also in the morning to wear under my gorgeous lipstick. The pot is weighty and glass and has such a girly pretty pink lid, which will last me ages and I haven’t used anything like this in the past. So that’s definitely got its slot by my bedside table (amongst the photos!).
This week saw me nervously, but excitedly, put up my first video on YouTube – when you press that button PUBLISH and you know that it is then out there …. online ….. it is quite a scary feeling …. but amazingly it seems to have been really well received and like my blog I have had the most amazing support and encouragement from the online world …. and from Becky and Holly of course. I am sure some of you will have had a look but if you haven’t seen it then just go on to YouTube and type in Growing Old Disgracefully and up it comes. If you want to see some more then you just subscribe to it. That would be amazing. My life online is just evolving all the time … it’s an amazing journey …. that’s not just to LONDON….hehe….. and I am loving it.
