ARDELL’S NEW PRESS ON FALSE LASHES – THE ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS! AND MY NEW GLASSES !!!!

Hey Lovelies

It feels like a while since I sat down to Blog and that’s mainly because I find January such a hard month to get excited about. I employ all my survival tactics to get me through … but even then it seems just like such a long, hard month, doesn’t it and to add to that, this last week the girl’s grandma was ill for a few days in hospital and then passed away, which has been such a sad thing for them to bear and has meant long hours in hospitals and waves of sadness at the passing of such a feisty lady who we thought would live forever! So I have been doing my Momma thing and trying to support them in whatever way I can.

So I am beginning to pull out of this … and wanted to tell you about what I have been trying this week. I have never really worn glasses, not until a few years ago when I just thought my eyes were tired and it turned out they were permanently tired and I needed reading glasses and a bit of distance! Anyway, this week, saw me excitedly picking up my new glasses from Specsavers which is where I always go, and this time I went for designer glasses that Twiggy has launched for Aurora.

There are several within the range, but I went for a lovely pair of deep fuchsia pink glasses that are slightly cat eye in shape (which I think is very flattering), and then to glam them up a bit more, as sometimes, glasses can be a bit plain, can’t they, well these have got beautiful crystals down the sides of them ….. so pretty. Even the Aurora case for them has got a pretty diamante in it. I hope you can see the detail in the photo I took.

Twiggy is such an icon, isn’t she, and I think it’s fabulous that she has helped design her own range of glasses. They are really comfortable and light to wear so I don’t really feel like I am wearing glasses, because I do have a bit of a hate feeling around glasses! I am super happy with them and have them on at this very moment, whilst typing this! They will certainly be worn a lot!! I hope you like them on me too and mine were £125 from Specsavers.

THALGO HYALURONIC EYE PATCH MASKS
To help cope with the lack of sleep in the past week, and basically anytime that the area under your eyes needs a good sorting out ….. I reach for these amazing little babies. Oh my goodness … each sachet contains two crescent shaped eye patches that you literally just stick under your eyes. All the celebs wear them before an event and certainly if you were up early in the morning – that early morning flight you have to catch or that early morning presentation you have to do and you want to look your best then you would pop these on for 10 minutes.

(Grab a cuppa whilst they are performing their amazingness! ) They are full of gorgeous marine hyaluronic acids and amazing for plumping up those little wrinkles and smoothing out that under eye area. They work even better if they are kept in the fridge too! Your eyes feel incredibly rested afterwards as well. The best place I find them is Feel Unique, £28 for a box of 8 pairs. I think I could be addicted to these …. as I am definitely not a morning person hehe ….

LAURA MERCIER FOUNDATION PRIMER RADIANCE
Now here’s a different little primer that I have been loving….. a lovely creamy, liquid primer that has a pearlescent finish to it and added colour to bring a lovely healthy glow to skin tones. It feels really silky smooth to apply and definitely helps even out my skin tone and help the foundation that I put on the top stay locked on!

If you had amazing skin then you would even love to wear this on its own to give your skin a subtle glow but I use it as a great base for my foundation and this little primer also has a few anti-oxidants in it, which most of them don’t. Not enough to get over excited about but at least it is helping and it also has oils to nourish the skin. A multi-tasking primer! Like it!

ARDELL PRESS ON LASHES!
Now … when I saw these … I immediately knew that I was going to love them. As someone who has tried false lashes and just can’t get on with them, finds them uncomfortable and just hasn’t the time to mess around with all that glue … someone must have been watching me .. because that is why Ardell have brought out such an amazing product. Press on Lashes! Apparently the main blockages to women wearing false lashes is Time, and Difficulty of Application. That’s Me!!!!!

Hollywood Movie Magic launched the false eyelash trend in 1916 and women wanted to look the same as their screen idols but Ardell didn’t get going until 1971. My daughter Holly loves Ardell – their Wispies, and I frequently put them in her Xmas stocking or give her them along with her birthday present as I know she loves them and will use them. Her eyes look amazing with them, but I just couldn’t get on with the ones that she uses, so you can understand my excitement that actually now I might be able to sometimes. These press ons are exactly for people like me who don’t wear them every day – I might wear them to a special event or birthday party and the problem with that is that I never practise with the glue and don’t have the technical skills to apply. No problem with these – you just peel them out of the box with your tweezers, making sure they are about the right length for your eyes and if not trim a little bit off the length. Then position them on the lash line and give the eyelashes a squeeze all the way along to make sure they have stuck.

I can’t tell you how easy these are to apply – no fumbling around with the glue and struggling because of my not so good eyesight! These strips are far more comfortable and cushioning than the normal ones too and so for sensitive eyes like mine they are amazing. To remove them, you just peel them off – no pain! Apparently you can buy glue strips from somewhere to re-apply to be able to use these again but at the moment I haven’t found any so please let me know if you know of where I can purchase some.

There is no doubt that these Ardell lashes, in fact most false lashes in general, do make your eyes look fabulous … and that’s how we want to look, isn’t it girlies?? I got mine from Superdrug £8.45. Not cheap, I know, but if it’s a special occasion and you haven’t worn them before then you want to be trying these lovely comfy ones instead of some of the others, and if I can find the glue strips then you could probably use these for about 10 occasions so that’s not too bad.

Lots of Love to you All and thanks for following me :)

I love your glasses, they suit you so much and look lovely :) I had a little sample of the primer and liked it but not as much as the Smashbox hydrating primer which is better for my very dehydrated and dry skin. Have you tried using false lash glue? If I see any of the glue strips I’ll let you know lovely, also if you haven’t already try Red Cherry lashes they’re incredible, great post as always xxx

Hi Zoe, lovely to hear from you. Looked at the Red Cherry ones and they look lovely but I really struggle with putting the glue on etc and that is why I loved the Ardell ones. I am not a great fan of lashes, although I think they look amazing and these Ardell ones might well have helped me use them occasionally. Yes, let me know if you find any of the glue strips. Lots of love xxx

    Hello Gill,
Hope all is well with you and the girls. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you guys in my heart.
As I sit here with my “cuppa” reading your lovely blog I find myself so intrigued at your wonderful product reviews. As an eye glass wearer myself I love seeing what types of glasses are chosen by others and I find yours so very stylish. I also love a good primer and will have to give the Laura Mercier’s a try..sounds very hydrating. False eyelashes has always been a curious mystery to me and even though I absolutely love the look of them I am such a coward to try them. (lol) Now on the other hand those soothing eye patch masks is something I am so wanting to purchase. Sounds awesome! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us. Take great care!

      Hello lovely Joy

Lovely to hear from you and yes you will adore those eye masks – they are luxuriously lovely! Glad you like my glasses – I don’t really like wearing glasses but I love these! I am the same as you with false eyelashes but I think I might be tempted to these Ardell ones for special occasions. Thanks for your lovely thoughts. xx
